Rated: Intermediate. This trail can be done a couple of different ways. Some do the 3 mile/1800 ft elevation gain climb up to the covered gazebo type picnic table and then go back down. Others continue on to the restrooms and then turn left onto the Parmalee Gulch trail, do the loop and then hit the Castle Trail and go back down. Whichever way you do this, it’s a good work out and a fun downhill. OR, you can just do the Parmalee Gulch Trail by itself by taking C470 to the Hwy 285 exit going west. Take Parmalee Gulch Rd exit and follow this road for several miles. Watch for the Mt Falcon Park signs. Turn right onto Picutis Rd following brown park signs to the top parking lot.
Directions: From Denver, take the the Morrison Rd./CO 8 exit from CO 470. Head west into town (Main Street), take a left to stay on CO 8. Go about 1.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Ave. Follow the signs to the parking area for Mount Falcon Park. http://mapq.st/wkEj9M
